Bailey solicitor denies contact from French police

French police have so far not contacted the journalist Ian Bailey asking him to provide a statement on the murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier, according to Bailey’s solicitor.

French police have so far not contacted the journalist Ian Bailey asking him to provide a statement on the murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier, according to Bailey’s solicitor.

Frank Buttimer said that he was unaware of any contact made to his client. ‘‘Absolutely none,” he said, responding to reports that the French police had asked Bailey to supply them with a voluntary statement on the filmmaker’s death at her Cork holiday home...
