Bad weather hits CRH sales

A challenging economic environment and prolonged winter conditions extending to the middle of April saw CRH’s European sales fall 12 per cent behind in the first four months of the year compared to 2012.

Continuing weakness in the European economy means CRH is unlikely to recoup lost sales during May and June.

A challenging economic environment and prolonged winter conditions extending to the middle of April saw CRH’s European sales fall 12 per cent behind in the first four months of the year compared to 2012.

The €300 million hit came as most of the company’s operations experienced lower activity as construction was significantly impacted in its major markets.
