Back to School: Technology is now top of the class

On a mission to make technology central to education, ICS Skills has been busy launching new initiatives into schools and fine-tuning some more established ones.

Pupils in around 40 Irish secondary schools will have the option of trying out a pilot computer science course this year, the next step in the long held ambition of the Irish Computer Society (ICS) Skills to better prepare children for the modern workplace.

Representing the interests of ICT professionals in Ireland, ICS has been exploring ways of introducing computer science into the curriculum since the 1990s.
