Avoid the boom-and-bust cycle

“You can't buck the market,” was one of the famous sayings of Margaret Thatcher.

And it would seem in Ireland today that the market is interested in only one thing - property. Last week, Jury Doyles announced the sale of its famous hotel in Ballsbridge and the adjoining Jurys Towers. The reason was simple: the sites were worth more to sell off and redevelop with apartments and offices than to keep as hotels.
