Aviva fined €245,000 by Central Bank

Aviva has been fined €245,000 by the Central Bank for a failure by the firm to ensure compliance with complaints handling requirements.

Aviva has been fined €245,000 by the Central Bank. The fine was imposed for “a failure by the firm to have adequate systems and control checks in place to ensure compliance with the complaints handling requirements” of the Consumer Protection Code.

“A sample of 76 of the firm’s individual customer complaint files were reviewed,“ said a statement from the Central Bank.
