Autumn's new leaves

It has already been an exciting year for books, but autumn is set to be the sweetest of seasons in the literary world as big names emerge with new titles, writes Nadine O'Regan.

Seven years on from Zadie Smith's compelling novel On Beauty, the much loved British author returns to the publishing fray with NW, the story of a group of Londoners, linked together by the council estate they grew up on. Notably, the book did not make it onto the recently announced Man Booker longlist - and Smith herself has called it a "small" novel, but we're still predicting big things for it.
