Autofore wants testing changes

Autofore, the Study for Future Options for Roadworthiness Enforcement in the European Union, is recommending changes to car testing across the EU.

24th March, 2007

The principal recommendations are to change the frequency of testing from every two years to every year and to add to the current list the inspection of electronically controlled components such as ABS, ESP and airbags.

Furthermore, it recommends that testing of motorbikes and scooters be commenced and that test procedures be upgraded regularly to take account of additional electronic components.
