The release of Irish aid worker Sharon Commins and her Ugandan colleague, Hilda Kawuki is expected ‘‘very soon’’, say authorities in Sudan.

Sudan’s ambassador to Britain and Ireland, Omar Mohamed Ahmed Siddig, held a private meeting with the woman’s family in Dublin last Friday and passed on a message from the Sudanese president.
