Australia deal could see further dividend at IN&M
Few clues were given by Independent News and Media (IN&M) last week as to whether shareholders can look forward to a special dividend when the APN deal goes through in Australia.
Analysts were hoping for some guidance on this after last week’s preliminary results, and have been speculating for some time that much of the €350 million proceeds from the leveraged APN buyout could be returned to shareholders. Last week, IN&M’s chief operating officer Gavin O’Reilly said he was unsure where the speculation regarding a special dividend was coming from, and focused on possible acquisitions opportunities.
