An Bord Pleanála has given the go-ahead to the first phase of the proposed Europe China Trading Hub in Athlone. It isexpected to provide 1,200 construction jobs and 1,500 full-time jobs when phase 1 is complete. If the overall project is built it could provide 9,000 jobs, the backers say.
