A new V8 diesel Range Rover, with 276bhp and a huge torque output of 600Nm, will go on sale towards the end of the year, answering complaints that the present diesel is hampered by the vehicle’s considerable weight. The 3.6-litre V8 engine is a development of the 2.7-litre V6 found in the Jaguar XJ and Land Rover Discovery.
