The veteran Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield, whose unusually interactive stint on the International Space Station earned him worldwide acclaim, is writing a book.

The veteran Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield, whose unusually interactive stint on the International Space Station earned him worldwide acclaim, is writing a book.

Called An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth, the book is promising "eye-opening, entertaining stories" and an explanation of "how conventional wisdom can get in the way of real achievement – and happiness".

Commissioned by Pan McMillan, it is due to be published in October.
