Asian stocks fell after companies such as Daewoo Engineering and Tokyo Steel posted weaker earnings and a manufacturing survey showed China's economic slowdown is deepening.

Asian stocks fell after companies such as Daewoo Engineering and Tokyo Steel posted weaker earnings and a manufacturing survey showed China's economic slowdown is deepening.

In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng index of shares lost 0.6 per cent while Japan's Nikkei index ended broadly unchanged, up .07 per cent.
