Spotted at the Rufus Wainwright gig in Dublin on Wednesday: a fan wearing oven gloves. Why so? Very simple. Wainwright had put a request on his website that fans attending his concerts refrain from clapping during the first half of his show.

‘‘During the first set, Rufus has asked that you please do not applaud until after he has left the stage,” the post reads. ‘‘His exit is part of the piece.”...
