Fiery, uncompromising and – probably – a bit of a gobshite, hip-hop superstar Kanye West alienates as many people as he attracts. Last Wednesday night, thousands of West-teeshirt-clad teenagers and twentysomethings (and, er, me) streamed into Marlay Park in Dublin for what they hoped would be the gig of their lives. Everyone else watching telly at home, meanwhile, was not merely indifferent to the gig. They were annoyed West had jetted into Ireland at all.
