‘It’s pure bog land and great soil for blueberries,” says Nuala O’Donoghue, the manager of Derryvilla Blueberry Farm in Co Offaly.

For more than 40 years, the farm has been producing a variety of blueberries, ranging from sweet plump berries to those with more of a bitter tang.
