Armstrong has confessed to doping, AP reports

Before the interview, Armstrong stopped at the Livestrong Foundation and apologised to staff members for letting them down and putting the charity at risk, AP said

Lance Armstrong confessed in an interview with Oprah Winfrey that he used performance-enhancing drugs to win cycling’s Tour de France, the Associated Press said, citing an unidentified person familiar with the situation.

Armstrong spoke with Winfrey for more than two and a half hours yesterday at a hotel in the cyclist’s hometown of Austin, Texas.
