Are we in or are we out?

There is plenty of political posturing ahead of a referendum which might not even come to pass, writes Niamh Connolly, Political Correspondent.

"It really comes down on this occasion to a very simple issue: do you want to continue in the euro or not? Faced with that question, I think the Irish people will pass such a referendum." The bleak choice for Irish voters outlined by Minister for Finance Michael Noonan in an interview with Bloomberg Television in London met a chorus of disapproval from opposition parties last week.
