The Archbishop of Dublin has called for more funding for Catholic schools with high numbers of immigrant pupils.

Archbishop Diarmuid Martin was speaking last Thursday at a ‘Festival of Peoples' Mass in Dublin's Pro-Cathedral for members of the Polish, Lithuanian, Romanian, Nigerian, Filipino and Indian communities. A specially-formed multi-cultural choir provided the music.

Martin said the Catholic school system in Dublin was fostering the introduction of the children of immigrants into society.
