Archbishop raps media for fourth time

Archbishop Diarmuid Martin’s condemnation last week of newspaper coverage of his remarks on clerical celibacy was the fourth time in 16 months that the cleric has had to clarify controversial media statements.

In a statement issued by his office last Monday, Martin expressed his ‘‘frustration and annoyance’’ about media ‘‘confusion and misinformation’’ following a TV3 interview broadcast last Sunday.
