Arab-Irish: A shared learning curve

Saudi Arabia is already Ireland's single-biggest trading partner in terms of education – and there are plans for further growth, writes John Cradden.

The internationalisation of third-level education in Ireland is continuing apace, if our growing links with Gulf state institutions are anything to go by.

Next month, Minister for Education Ruairi­ Quinn will lead an Irish delegation to IECHE, a major education show and conference taking place in Saudi Arabia.

They will participate in high-level meetings with government officials, including the country's education minister, and various universities and students.
