Applegreen raises €20,000 for suicide charity

The charitable fund of the fuel retail company, Applegreen, has raised more than €20,000 for the national suicide prevention charity, Console.

The charitable fund of the fuel retail company, Applegreen, has raised more than €20,000 for the national suicide prevention charity, Console.

The company's charity committee climbed three mountains in three days, including Ben Nevis and Carrauntoohill, the highest peaks in Britain and Ireland, in aid of the charity.

Applegreen increased its charity fundraising total by 39 per cent last year, raising over €209,585 in 2012 for Console, the Jack and Jill Foundation and Down Syndrome Ireland.
