Appian hires staff after buying new assets

Appian Asset Management, the fund management company headed by Patrick Lawless, has beefed up its staff numbers to 21 after taking over some of the assets of wealth manager Custom House Capital.

Appian Asset Management, the fund management company headed by Patrick Lawless, has beefed up its staff numbers to 21 after taking over some of the assets of wealth manager Custom House Capital.

Appian is hiring eight former Custom House staff, including John Whyte, head of relationship management. It has also poached Brian Cahilan from HSBC, where he served as head of legal and compliance.
