Anglo Irish Bank is expecting to dispose of its entire portfolio of American assets this year as the US debt market outlook continues to improve, according to informed sources.

Anglo Irish Bank is expecting to dispose of its entire portfolio of American assets this year as the US debt market outlook continues to improve, according to informed sources.

The nationalised bank is hoping to shift more than €10 billion in loans backed by American commercial property by October before concentrating on the remaining British book.

The US portfolio has already been written down by about 15 per cent - compared to some Irish assets...
