Minister of State Barry Andrews is to seek a constitutional referendum on children’s rights on the same day as the general election, expected to be March 25.

Andrews, who is to submit the proposal to cabinet, told this newspaper that he would also seek cross-party support in the Dáil from Fine Gael, Labour and Sinn Féin to agree the wording of the referendum.
