The archetypal summer idyll, A Windy Day by Sir John Lavery, is one of 62 paintings in a current exhibition at the Hunt Museum in Limerick. Entitled Lavery and Osborne: Observing Life, it offers the rare chance to see many works from private collections. The composition is simple, the oh-so-feminine, sunlit white dress, the azure sea and the young woman protecting her complexion from the sun with the broadbrimmed hat that the wind is battling...
