America braces itself for a stultifying sequester

The latest fiscal logjam in the US between Barack Obama and the Republicans could see huge cuts, costing potentially two million jobs, writes Niall Stanage.

The sequester is a dull name for a dramatic package of spending cuts that are set to take effect from Friday.
