Now that the buying frenzy surrounding the latest novel in the Harry Potter series has slowed, bookseller John McNamee can focus on his new job, that of president of the European Booksellers Federation (EBF).

Last weekend's launch of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince wasn't all magical for booksellers. McNamee said below-cost selling by some large supermarket chains affected sales in smaller bookshops.
