Named after the city in which it was recorded, Stockholm is the debut solo album from the Pretenders frontwoman, which she wanted to sound like a mix of John Lennon and Abba. The good news is that she has largely succeeded, with an upbeat, catchy collection of pop/rock tunes that don’t deviate too much from Hynde’s stellar back catalogue.
