Airtricity will seek new funds next year

Airtricity - the loss-making wind energy firm that has raised €250 million in funding - plans to raise a larger investment next year ahead of a stock market listing in 2008.

Eddie O’Connor, founder and chief executive of Airtricity, said the funds would last ‘‘as short as nine months or as long as a year-and-a-half’’. He said the firm was building nine wind farms in four countries and would use the money to buy wind turbines and consider acquisitions.
