Airtricity expansion

Airtricity, the renewable energy firm founded and run by Eddie O’Connor, has always been good at managing its news flow - and last week was no different.

The company announced that it is raising €250 million to fund an international expansion. National Toll Roads (NTR), Airtricity’s 51 per cent shareholder, is stumping up €127.5 million to maintain its stake and Airtricity will be valued at €800 million. The deal rightly got widespread coverage in the media, but with little analysis.
