AIB to shake up SME lending processes

AIB has said that it is shaking up its lending processes for small and medium enterprises, beginning tomorrow.

AIB said that it had exceeded the government’s SME lending target of €3.5 billion for 2012.

AIB has said that it is shaking up its lending processes for small and medium enterprises, beginning tomorrow.

Under the new arrangements, the bank said that viable business borrowers will be able to secure a decision on their formal loan applications for up to €25,000 on a next-business-day basis.

The bank said in a statement that the majority of all loan applications to AIB from the SME sector are for €25,000 or less.
