AIB sells €500 million in 3-year bonds

AIB has confirmed that it sold €500 million in three-year bonds at 3.125 per cent today in a sale that Finance Minister Michael Noonan welcomed as "an important step in our goal of returning our banks to full independence".
The past month has seen successful bond sales by the NTMA, AIB, Bank of Ireland, Bord Gais and ESB.
AIB, for which the sale was the first since 2007, said its issue was oversubscribed more than four times.
