AIB may consider branch closures

AIB plans to issue secured debt over coming months, according to the bank's chief financial officer, Paul Stanley.

Meanwhile, the chief executive of AIB, David Duffy, said that the bank is not ruling out branch closures. Duffy said that “some unviable branches may be affected”.

Duffy said that the bank was still on course to returning to profit in 2014. He also said that the bank had surpassed the Government's SME lending target...
