AIB issues 2.18bn shares to NPRFC to cover dividend to State

AIB has issued 2.18 billion shares to the National Pensions Reserve Fund Commission to cover the State’s annual €280 million dividend on €3.5 billion of preferred shares it owns in the lender.

The total number of AIB ordinary shares in issue following this bonus issue is now more than 523 billion, with the Irish State owning 99.8 per cent of them.

AIB has issued 2.18 billion shares to the National Pensions Reserve Fund Commission (NPRFC) to cover the State’s annual €280 million dividend on €3.5 billion of preferred shares it owns in the lender, it said in a statement today.
