AIB has advised solicitors that it is no longer offering executorship or trustee services.

The bank recently placed an advertisement in the Law Society Gazette, which stated that it had ‘‘recently decided to withdraw’’ the provision of such services.

According to sources close to the bank, some customers would traditionally have sent a copy of their will to the bank, requesting that the bank act as an executor of their estate...
