Ahern reassures FF rural backbenchers

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern reassured those attending last week’s Fianna Fail parliamentary party meeting that the Greens in government would present no problems for the party’s farming vote amid rumblings from some rural backbenchers.

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern reassured those attending last week’s Fianna Fail parliamentary party meeting that the Greens in government would present no problems for the party’s farming vote amid rumblings from some rural backbenchers.

Addressing the meeting last Wednesday, Ahern said the Green Party was not in favour of a ban on live animal exports.
