With just four days before the new Dail meets for the first time, Bertie Ahern now expects to be re-elected Taoiseach for a third term with the support of the Progressive Democrats and four of the five independent deputies.

With just four days before the new Dail meets for the first time, Bertie Ahern now expects to be re-elected Taoiseach for a third term with the support of the Progressive Democrats and four of the five independent deputies.

The Dail numbers will leave the Fianna Fail-led government with an extremely tight majority, similar to the 19972002 administration.
