One hundred years after capturing its first image, MacMonagle Photography is still as snap-happy as ever.

In Killarney this summer, a unique exhibition celebrates the centenary of a remarkable dynasty. The oldest photographic agency in Ireland, MacMonagle Photography, was founded by Daniel MacMonagle in 1913. Born and raised in Rathmullan, Co Donegal, MacMonagle learned his trade in Scotland in his late teens before moving to Co Cork in 1905, aged 22.

Having opened studios in Skibbereen, Schull and Castletownbere, he eventually teamed up with French photographer Louis Anthony in Killarney in 1908. In those...
