Age tax-credits

The government boasts of its record in dealing with senior citizens' welfare. Why then were the age tax credits not increased? Your budget supplement (SBP 5/12/04) did not deal with age allowances in the context of income tax credits.

These remain static at the miserly rates of €215 for single people and €410 for married people. (Age exemption limits are a different type of tax relief.)
