Nineteen years ago this month, Nelson Mandela walked free from his prison cell - a major step towards the end of apartheid. The world has been transformed since February 1990, but nowhere more so than South Africa.

Next year the country will host the football World Cup, and just as its businesses, government and tourism sectors are gearing up to take advantage of being in the spotlight, so too is its wine industry.
