Aer Lingus shares up 4% after Etihad news

Shares in Aer Lingus jumped four per cent in early dealings after news that Etihad had amassed a stake of nearly three per cent in the airline.

Shares in Aer Lingus jumped four per cent in early dealings after news that Etihad had amassed a stake of nearly three per cent in the airline.

Aer Lingus said the two airlines were in talks on reciprocal code sharing and that these talks might be extended.

Aer Lingus shares were trading just above €1 at 8.25 am. The broader ISEQ index was up 0.4 per cent.
