Aer Lingus battle about to take off

Michael O’Leary has chosen to adopt a ‘carrot-and-stick’ approach to persuade Aer Lingus shareholders to part with their shares at an offer price of €2.80 per share.

The battle will commence in earnest from 7am tomorrow, when the formal offer document will be made available. Shareholders in Aer Lingus will have until November 13 to accept or reject the offer. At this point, Ryanair could extend the offer period.
