AEP Networks, a technology firm whose investors include Michael Smurfit Jr, had a turnover of €8.1 million last year, up more than 70 per cent from 2004.
Despite the rise in turnover, the company made a pre-tax loss of €6.2 million because of a sharp rise in operating expenses and the write-off of goodwill on acquisitions. AEP makes network security hardware and made a pre-tax loss of €4.9 million in 2004 on turnover of €4.7 million.
