Adams calls for vote against austerity

Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams last night appealed to voters not to write austerity into the constitution and attacked Taoiseach Enda Kenny for refusing to participate in a leaders' debate on the fiscal treaty.

Adams told his party's ardfheis in Killarney that voting Yes would mean more cuts and charges. He said the Taoiseach's refusal to debate the treaty was "not leadership" and "not showing citizens the respect they deserve".
