Ad spend to slow next year

Billetts Ireland is predicting a small slowdown to 6 per cent in advertising spend growth in 2007.

The marketing consultancy predicts that the first half of the year will show stronger economic growth, as most SSIAs will mature in April/May.

The second half of the year will see a rise in energy bills and mortgage rates and hence a downturn in the economy in the tail end of the year.

That should mean demand for advertising airtime/ space will increase 8 per cent in the first half of the year and...
