Acute hospital system to split into six, report recommends

A report into the future of the Irish acute hospital system has recommended that it be divided into six hospital groups.

The Hospital Groups represents the most fundamental reform of the system in decades, health minister James Reilly said.

A report into the future of the Irish acute hospital system has recommended that it be divided into six hospital groups.

The Hospital Groups represents the most fundamental reform of the system in decades, health minister James Reilly said. The proposed formation of hospital groups is expected to lead in the near future to the creation of independent Hospital Trusts.

The move was welcomed by the Presidents of the academic institutions involved with the hospitals....
