Accommodating a disability can pay off

Facilitating an employee who has acquired a disability can benefit the whole organisation, writes Gareth Naughton.

The benefits of making the effort to retain an employee who has acquired a disability can far outweigh the minor adjustments necessary to accommodate the change.

Siobhan Barron, director of the National Disability Authority, said that employers who failed to retain staff were losing out on qualified, experienced employees who were already a good fit for their organisation.
