Abortion challenge

Last week's hearings on the abortion issue at the Oireachtas committee were, in the main, constructive and calm.

Those involved deserve credit. While some witnesses and Oireachtas members sought to use the platform to advance their own agendas, most were there to debate, to learn and to exchange views. This is how laws should be made.
