ABC sales: Irish dailies lose ground

Sales of Irish daily papers have dropped sharply in some cases in the second half of 2011, the latest figures from the Audit Bureau of Circulations have shown.

Sales of Irish daily papers have dropped sharply in some cases in the second half of 2011, the latest figures from the Audit Bureau of Circulations have shown.

The report showed a 6.5 per cent fall in sales for the Irish Times to 96,150, while the Irish Independent dropped 5.3 per cent to 131,161.

The Irish Examiner took an 8.5 per cent sale hit to drop to an average of 42,083.
